Almeida Law Group is pleased to announce that, on June 16, 2025, the Honorable Paul A. Engelmayer, United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York, granted preliminary approval of a class action settlement in Cooper v. Mount Sinai Health System, Inc., Case No. 1:23-cv-09485-PAE. This lawsuit alleges that Mount Sinai used certain tracking technologies (commonly called pixels) on its website to collect and to disclose its patients’ private information to third parties, such as AdTech giants Meta and Google, without informed consent.  

In granting preliminary approval, Judge Engelmayer ruled that the settlement appears to be procedurally and substantively fair, reasonable, and adequate, and warrants dissemination of notice to the settlement class members. A final approval hearing is scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2025, at 2:30 p.m.
