Final Approval Granted in Henry Ford Health Pixel Tracking Class Action

Overview

The Circuit Court for the County of Wayne, Michigan has granted final approval of the class action settlement in McClain v. Henry Ford Health, Case No. 25-000801-CZ, resolving claims that Henry Ford Health disclosed sensitive patient data through pixel tracking technologies. 

We are pleased to share that the Honorable Kathleen M. McCarthy of the Circuit Court for the County of Wayne, Michigan has granted final approval of the class action settlement in McClain v. Henry Ford Health, Case No. 25-000801-CZ. 

The case involved allegations that Henry Ford Health embedded tracking technologies on its website. Plaintiff alleged that these technologies transmitted sensitive health information to third-party platforms such as Meta and Google without patient consent. The certified class includes all patients of Henry Ford Health residing in the United States who had a MyChart account between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2023.  

Following a final approval hearing on October 7, 2025, the Court found the settlement to be fair, reasonable and adequate under Michigan law and entered final judgment. The Court finally appointed Plaintiff as Class Representative and designated the following attorneys as Class Counsel: David S. Almeida of Almeida Law Group LLC, Emily E. Hughes of The Miller Law Firm, P.C., Gary M. Klinger of Milberg Coleman Bryson Phillips Grossman PLLC, and Nicholas A. Coulson of Coulson P.C.
