Attorneys at Almeida Law Group are investigating whether a class action lawsuit can be filed on behalf of individuals affected by a possible Honeycomb Programs Inc data breach. According to dark web monitoring sources, a hacker group calling itself direwolf claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on Honeycomb Programs Inc in a post first observed in September 2026, alleging it had gained access to internal company systems. As of this writing, Honeycomb Programs Inc has not issued a public confirmation of the incident, and the exact scope of any exposed data remains unknown. About Honeycomb Programs Inc

Honeycomb Programs Inc., doing business as Honeycomb Insurance (formerly Agilius Insurance Services), is an AI-driven managing general agent (MGA) specializing in commercial real estate property and casualty insurance. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the company provides coverage for landlords, condo associations, homeowner associations, apartment building owners, property managers, and developers through a digital platform. Honeycomb uses computer vision, aerial imagery, and AI-based underwriting, and reportedly insures over $55 billion in real estate assets across approximately 20 U.S. states. The company has raised approximately $54.7 million in venture funding.

What Happened?

Honeycomb Programs Inc was listed on the DireWolf ransomware group’s dark-web leak site in a claim first observed on September 1st, 2026, and indexed by Ransomware.live, RedPacket Security, and hendryadrian.com. All three characterize the listing as an attacker-side claim, not a confirmed victim disclosure. The DireWolf listing alleges that 1.4 TB of data was exfiltrated, but no downloadable files, screenshots, or other supporting evidence were provided alongside the listing. RedPacket Security noted that “the available information is insufficient to independently assess the scope of the alleged incident or confirm any impact.” No public statement or breach notification from Honeycomb Programs Inc has been found, and no corroborating sources such as state attorney general filings, regulatory disclosures, or independent news coverage citing the company were identified. The specific types of personal information allegedly involved were not described in the attacker’s listing beyond the single word “Insurance.”

DireWolf is a double-extortion ransomware group that emerged around May 2025. Written in Go and using Curve25519 and ChaCha20 encryption, the group had claimed more than 75 victims across manufacturing, professional services, healthcare, and other sectors in approximately 30 countries as of August 2026. All statements attributed to DireWolf should be treated as unverified allegations unless independently confirmed.
