The Superior Court of California has granted final approval of a class action settlement involving nearly 60,000 patients whose sensitive data was allegedly exposed through tracking technologies used by San Diego Fertility Center and Ivy Fertility Services.

Judge J.P. Boulee of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia denied in part the motion to dismiss in Doe v. Wellstar Health System, Inc., Case No. 1:24-cv-01748-JPB, allowing claims for unjust enrichment and violation of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act to proceed.

Judge Mark W. Pedersen of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York granted final approval of the class action settlement in Kane v. University of Rochester, Case No. 6:23-cv-6027-MJP, resolving claims over alleged unauthorized disclosures of patient data.
