About Landstar System Holdings, Inc.

Landstar System Holdings, Inc. is a subsidiary of Landstar System, Inc. (NASDAQ: LSTR), a technology-enabled, asset-light provider of integrated transportation management solutions based in Jacksonville, Florida. The company operates through a network of independent agents, owner-operator truck drivers, and third-party carriers, providing freight and logistics services across the United States and internationally. Because the company works with owner-operators and drivers, it maintains records that include personal identifiers such as names and driver’s license numbers — the data types confirmed as involved in this incident.

What Happened?

Landstar System Holdings, Inc. was listed in a Maine Attorney General filing reporting an external system breach caused by hacking. On April 30, 2026, Landstar detected suspicious activity by an unauthorized user within one of its business applications. The company promptly blocked the access, reported the incident to law enforcement, and engaged outside forensics experts. The investigation determined that between April 29 and April 30, 2026, an unauthorized actor accessed certain applications and storage locations within a limited portion of Landstar’s environment and may have accessed or acquired data from those systems. On May 22, 2026, Landstar confirmed that the affected files contained personal information — specifically, names and driver’s license numbers. Consumers were notified on June 11, 2026. The total number of persons affected nationwide was not disclosed in the filing. Landstar is offering 12 months of credit monitoring through TransUnion to affected individuals at no cost, and has implemented enhanced authentication protocols and additional cybersecurity training in response to the incident.

No ransomware group has claimed this attack and no independent media or cybersecurity researcher reporting on the incident was found. Landstar System, Inc. was separately involved in a supply chain fraud matter disclosed in April 2025 that drew securities litigation attention, but that matter is unrelated to this data breach.

What Should You Do?

If you received a notice from Landstar System Holdings, Inc., take steps now to protect yourself. Enroll in the 12-month TransUnion credit monitoring service offered at no cost as described in your notice. You should also consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze with all three major credit bureaus — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion — to make it harder for someone to open new accounts in your name. Because your driver’s license number was potentially exposed, be alert to any attempts to misuse that information, such as fraudulent license renewals or identity fraud in your name. Review your account statements and monitor your credit reports regularly; you can obtain free reports at AnnualCreditReport.com. If you suspect your information has been misused, report it to the Federal Trade Commission at IdentityTheft.gov and notify your state Attorney General or local law enforcement.
