by: Almeida Law Group

Attorneys at Almeida Law Group are investigating whether a class action lawsuit can be filed on behalf of individuals affected by a possible Sports Endeavors data breach. According to dark web monitoring sources, a hacker group calling itself spacebears claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on Sports Endeavors in a post first observed in September 2026, alleging it had gained access to internal company systems. As of this writing, Sports Endeavors has not issued a public confirmation of the incident, and the exact scope of any exposed data remains unknown. If you believe you were affected, contact Almeida Law Group.

About Sports Endeavors

Sports Endeavors is a North Carolina-based retailer founded in 1984 by brothers Mike and Brendan Moylan. The company operates several well-known sports retail brands, including Soccer.com, WorldSoccerShop, 431 Sports, Sports Promotions Group, INARIA, and Soccer Master, selling uniforms, equipment, and apparel for soccer, baseball, softball, and volleyball to teams, players, and fans. It runs one of the largest sports jersey customization facilities in the United States and ships from a 200,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Mebane, NC. In April 2026, Sports Endeavors was acquired by BSN SPORTS, a division of Varsity Brands, which is owned by KKR.

What Happened?

Sports Endeavors was listed on the SpaceBears ransomware group’s dark web leak site in an allegation first observed on September 4th, 2026, and reported by Ransomware.live and RedPacket Security. The post contained background information about the company but did not describe an intrusion method, identify affected systems, specify a ransom demand, claim a data volume, or detail the types of information allegedly obtained. No screenshots or downloadable files were included in the claim. Sports Endeavors has not publicly confirmed the incident, and no independent corroborating source confirming an actual compromise has been found.

SpaceBears is a double-extortion ransomware group that emerged in April 2024 and is believed to be based in Moscow, Russia. Security researchers have linked it to the Phobos ransomware-as-a-service infrastructure and characterized it as primarily operating as a data broker using basic extortion strategies. Notably, SpaceBears has a documented history of disputed claims: in December 2024, Atos publicly stated that a SpaceBears allegation against it was “unfounded.” This post should be treated as an unverified attacker-side allegation unless and until Sports Endeavors or an independent source confirms otherwise.
