David Almeida is the Founder and Managing Partner of Almeida Law Group LLC. David brings a unique and incredibly experienced perspective to representing individuals in class action lawsuits as, for the majority of his career, he has served primarily as a class action defense lawyer representing hospital systems, medical providers, retail and hospitality companies as well as all manner of consumer-facing companies in privacy and consumer-related class action litigation.

Prior to founding ALG, David was, most recently, a Partner with Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan and Aronoff LLP in its Chicago office. While at Benesch, David founded and chaired the Firm’s Class Action Practice Group and also served as the Chair of the Firm’s Telephone Consumer Protection Act Team and its Retail, Hospitality and Consumer Products Practice Group.

David is a 1999 graduate of Cornell Law School and has practiced at several prominent firms in New York City and Chicago. David is admitted to the New York, Illinois and Wisconsin bars as well as admitted to practice in numerous federal courts including the United States District for the Northern District of Illinois (including Trial Bar).

David has been involved in more than 450 class action lawsuits throughout the country, involving an incredibly wide-range of claims, including data breach and privacy violations, state consumer fraud and deceptive business practices, false advertising and false labeling, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the CAN-SPAM Act, the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) and “do not call” registries, the Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and HITECH regulations.
