Almeida Law Group LLC, Tycko & Zavareei LLP, Cutter Law P.C., & Weitz & Luxenberg PC File Class Action Lawsuit Against Thrillzz Inc. for Alleged Illegal Online Sports Gambling in California

San Diego, CA — A coalition of law firms—Almeida Law Group LLC, Tycko & Zavareei LLP, Cutter Law P.C., and Weitz & Luxenberg PC—has filed a class action lawsuit against Thrillzz Inc., a Tennessee-based company operating mobile gambling applications and websites, for allegedly conducting illegal online sports betting in violation of California law. It is the coalition’s fifth lawsuit against online sports gambling companies illegal operating in California.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, alleges that Thrillzz’s “Sweepstakes Sportsbook” misleads consumers into believing its gambling services are legal in California, despite longstanding prohibitions under state law. Plaintiffs Jared Rahmani and Gurgen Galstyan, both California residents, claim they were deceived by Thrillzz’s marketing and lost thousands of dollars through the platform.

The complaint seeks monetary and injunctive relief on behalf of all California residents who placed bets on Thrillzz’s gambling websites while in the state.

“Thrillzz has built its business on a false promise—that its gambling platform is legal in California,” said F. Peter Silva II and Katherine Aizpuru of Tycko & Zavareei LLP, co-counsel for the plaintiffs. “Our clients were misled into wagering thousands of dollars on what they believed were lawful contests. This lawsuit aims to hold Thrillzz accountable and recover those losses.”

“California voters have repeatedly rejected online sports betting, and the law is clear: it’s not permitted,” said Wesley Griffith of Almeida Law Group LLC. “Thrillzz’s operations are not only illegal—they’re harmful. We intend to stop this unlawful conduct and seek justice for affected consumers.”

“This case is about protecting Californians from deceptive and predatory practices,” added Margot Cutter of Cutter Law P.C. “Thrillzz’s conduct violates multiple provisions of the California Penal Code and consumer protection laws.”

“Thrillzz’s misrepresentations were not just misleading—they were fraudulent,” said James Bilsborrow of Weitz & Luxenberg PC. “We’re seeking full restitution for consumers and a court order to shut down these illegal operations.”

The lawsuit alleges violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law, the Consumer Legal Remedies Act, and Penal Code Section 496(c), among others. Plaintiffs are seeking class certification, restitution, and injunctive relief to prevent further harm.
