The Almeida Law Group continues its work representing consumers in a newly filed federal class action. The case, filed on February 13, 2026, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida alleges that Crypto.com operates an unlawful sports gambling enterprise throughout the United States.
According to the Plaintiffs’ complaint, Crypto.com allegedly represented that its platform was legal nationwide and regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, while failing to disclose that its sports wagering products are prohibited under the laws of numerous states, including California and Florida. Plaintiffs allege that they would not have placed wagers had accurate disclosures been provided about legality of the gambling services.
“Consumers deserve to know the legality of the products they are using, especially when engaging in highly regulated activities,” said ALG Of Counsel David McGee. “Simply slapping a different label on potentially illegal sports gambling is not enough, consumers deserve more from Crypto.com.”
The lawsuit seeks to recover gambling losses and hold Crypto.com and its affiliated entities accountable for operating an unlawful gambling platform, misrepresenting the legality of their services, and engaging in deceptive business practices.
The case is styled Keohohou, et al. v. North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc., No. 1:26-cv-20996, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
