About Tessco, LLC

Tessco LLC, formerly known as TESSCO Technologies Incorporated, is a value-added technology distributor, manufacturer, and solutions provider headquartered in Hunt Valley, Maryland. The company has served customers in the wireless infrastructure construction industry for over 40 years, supplying products such as base station antennas, cable and transmission lines, connectors, two-way radios, and security equipment for network infrastructure and broadband networks. The company employs between 501 and 1,000 people. Because the breach involved Social Security numbers and financial account information, affected individuals face meaningful risk of identity theft and financial fraud.

What Happened?

Tessco, LLC was listed in a Vermont Attorney General breach report summary dated September 16th, 2026. The filing identifies the compromised data categories as Social Security numbers, financial account codes, and credit and debit account information. The Vermont AG notice represents the first known regulator-filed notice from Tessco itself.

The regulatory filing came nearly five months after the ransomware group PayoutsKing claimed responsibility for attacking Tessco on April 30th, 2026. According to threat intelligence sources and outside researchers, PayoutsKing alleged it exfiltrated and encrypted approximately 615 gigabytes of data, including contact information for over 100,000 individuals and Salesforce records for more than 500,000 customers. Those figures and data descriptions are attacker claims and have not been confirmed by Tessco. A separate Massachusetts notification, also dated September 16th, 2026, officially lists only names and information belonging to minor dependents as confirmed compromised data, suggesting Tessco may be disclosing different data types depending on what was exposed for each individual. Additional data types reported by outside researchers — including addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and dates of birth — have not been officially confirmed by the company. As of the research date, no class action lawsuit has been confirmed as filed, though multiple law firms are actively investigating the incident and soliciting affected individuals.

Key Facts at a Glance

What Should You Do?

If you received a notice from Tessco, LLC, or believe your information may have been involved, you should act promptly to protect yourself. Because Social Security numbers and financial account information were among the confirmed compromised data types, consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze with all three major credit bureaus — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. You can request your free annual credit reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and review them carefully for unfamiliar accounts or activity. Monitor your bank and credit card statements regularly for unauthorized transactions. If Tessco offers identity theft protection enrollment, take advantage of it before any stated deadline. If you believe your information has already been misused, visit IdentityTheft.gov to report the theft and get a personalized recovery plan.
