According to Saber’s own press release dated September 25th, 2026, on July 27th, 2026 the company detected a service outage affecting its internal and external computer systems. An investigation determined that an outside party had gained access to Saber’s corporate computer network and encrypted a small portion of files — consistent with a ransomware-style attack. Saber completed its file review on August 19th, 2026 and began mailing individual notices at that time. No specific ransomware group has been publicly attributed to this attack in available reporting.
