About Genesis Credit Management

Genesis Credit Management — also operating as Columbia Debt Recovery, LLC — is a third-party debt collection agency founded in 2008 and based in Everett, Washington. The company specializes in collections for the multi-family housing industry and delinquent receivables recovery, and it works with healthcare providers, financial services companies, and utilities as primary creditors. It employs approximately 11 to 50 people and reports revenue of approximately $12.2 million.

What Happened?

Genesis Credit Management was listed on the Qilin ransomware group’s dark-web leak site in an allegation tracked by Ransomware.live on October 3rd, 2026. The claimed incident type is a ransomware attack. No breach date, discovery date, data volume, or list of exposed data types has been disclosed by any source. No independent corroborating source — such as a regulatory filing, company notice, or news report — has been found to confirm this allegation. The claim is attacker-side only and should be treated as unverified.

Qilin, also known as Agenda, is a Russia-linked Ransomware-as-a-Service operation active since July 2022. It was ranked the most active ransomware group globally in the first quarter of 2026, with 353 attack claims that quarter and over 1,358 claimed victims between April 2025 and March 2026 — a reported 443% year-over-year increase. Qilin uses a double-extortion model, meaning it both encrypts victim data and claims to exfiltrate it, threatening public release if a ransom is not paid. Separately, HudsonRock data associated with the Ransomware.live listing noted 24 compromised user credentials linked to the genesiscred.com domain, though these may reflect prior infostealer activity unrelated to this specific ransomware claim.

What Should You Do?
