About Alation Inc.
Alation Inc. is a private enterprise data intelligence company founded in 2012 and headquartered in Redwood City, California. The company provides a data catalog and AI governance platform that helps enterprises discover, understand, and govern their data, combining machine learning with human insight to support self-service analytics. Alation serves more than 500 global companies, including approximately half of the Fortune 1000. Because Alation’s platform is used by large organizations across industries, a breach of its systems can expose personal information belonging to employees or clients of those downstream customers.
