About Corporation Service Company

Corporation Service Company (CSC) is a privately held business services company founded in 1899 and headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware. It provides registered agent services, entity formation, corporate compliance, domain management, legal and tax services, and intellectual property protection to businesses worldwide, including approximately 90% of Fortune 500 companies. CSC employs more than 8,000 people across offices in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. Note: CSC is not affiliated with CSC ServiceWorks, an unrelated laundry services company.

What Happened?

Corporation Service Company was listed in a Texas Attorney General data security breach report (record BR-0005254). According to that filing, an unauthorized party accessed systems containing personal information belonging to 20,283 individuals during a window spanning August 10th, 2025 through August 25th, 2025. The breach was not discovered until July 15th, 2026 — approximately eleven months after it occurred — and was reported to the Texas Attorney General on August 14th, 2026. Affected individuals were notified by U.S. Mail. The compromised information included names, Social Security numbers, government-issued ID numbers (such as passport and state ID card numbers), financial account information (such as account numbers and credit or debit card numbers), and dates of birth.

Separately, Breachsense records a claim by the CL0P ransomware group against cscglobal.com with a discovery date of October 24th, 2025. This is an attacker-side allegation from a leak site and has not been confirmed by Corporation Service Company or any regulatory authority as connected to this filing. The filing also reflects a prior incident: around 2020–2021, CSC experienced a separate breach in which an unauthorized third party exfiltrated a database containing personal information belonging to 5,678 clients, which was reported to the California Attorney General.
