About Costa Solutions, LLC

Costa Solutions, LLC is a privately held managed-labor and warehousing company founded in 1988 and headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. The company provides lumper services, freight unloading, container and railcar unloading, and warehouse labor solutions, primarily serving food, retail, e-commerce, and cold storage sectors across the American Southwest, including the Port of Houston. Because the company employs large workforces and manages payroll and HR records for those workers, it holds the kinds of personal, financial, and medical information that were confirmed as compromised in this incident.

What Happened?

Costa Solutions, LLC was listed in a Texas Attorney General data security breach report (record BR-0005321) filed on September 11th, 2026. The breach window spans April 15th, 2026 through April 20th, 2026, with discovery not occurring until August 10th, 2026 — a gap of roughly 112 days. A total of 22,482 individuals were affected. The compromised information includes names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, other government-issued ID numbers (such as passports and state ID cards), medical information, health insurance information, dates of birth, and additional unspecified data. Costa Solutions notified affected consumers by U.S. Mail and by publication in print media.

The Aurora ransomware group (also identified as Aur0ra) claimed Costa Solutions as a victim on its leak site, with the claim first observed on April 29th, 2026 — more than three months before Costa Solutions reports having discovered the breach. This is an attacker-side allegation, not a company-confirmed attribution. Independent threat intelligence sources, including reporting by The Hacker News based on research from CloudSEK and Gambit Security, describe Aurora as a Russian-speaking cybercrime group that uses AI-assisted attack tools and has targeted more than 20 organizations across nine countries between April and July 2026. Third-party sources DeXpose and Breachsense also reported the claim against Costa Solutions. No class action lawsuits or public litigation connected to this breach were found as of September 11th, 2026.

What Should You Do?

If you received a notice from Costa Solutions, LLC, act promptly to protect yourself. Review any identity theft protection enrollment offer included in your notice and sign up before the deadline if one is provided. Place a fraud alert or credit freeze with the three major credit bureaus — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion — to make it harder for anyone to open new accounts in your name. Request your free credit reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and review them carefully for unfamiliar accounts or inquiries. Because medical information and health insurance information were among the data types exposed, also review your Explanation of Benefits statements and request copies of your medical records to check for any services you did not receive. Report any suspicious activity to the Federal Trade Commission at IdentityTheft.gov, where you can also create a personalized recovery plan.
