What Happened?
On October 2nd, 2026, the ransomware group Booba Project posted a dark-web leak-site claim listing EdgeEndo® USA as a victim, as reported by Ransomware.live. The group alleged that 103 GB of data described as “Medical Device Stolen data” was stolen. This is an attacker-side allegation only. No independent confirmation from EdgeEndo® USA, state regulators, HHS, or mainstream media has been found. RedPacket Security has specifically noted that Booba Project listings have included “unverified or fabricated victim claims,” and the 103 GB figure and data category have not been independently verified. No specific data types — such as customer records, employee information, or financial data — have been identified by any source beyond the attacker’s generic label.
Booba Project is a financially motivated ransomware group that emerged in June or July of 2026, operating a double-extortion model in which data is exfiltrated before systems are encrypted. Threat intelligence sources report the group has claimed approximately 18 to 36 victims across multiple sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing, government, and legal services, and uses Tor-based leak sites and Telegram channels for victim announcements. Multiple intelligence sources characterize Booba Project as an early-stage operation whose attribution, malware lineage, and affiliate structure remain unconfirmed, and recommend treating its claims with caution pending independent corroboration.
