About Kashi Dental

Kashi Dental is a family-oriented, comprehensive dentistry practice located in Converse, Texas, offering general dentistry, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, and related services. It operates as a branch of Soniva Dental, a Texas-based multi-location dental organization. Because the breach involved medical information, health insurance information, and government-issued identification, the exposure carries significant risks for affected patients.

What Happened?

Kashi Dental was listed in a Texas Attorney General data security breach report (record BR-0005206) published on July 28th, 2026. The filing identifies an unauthorized incident that began on May 25th, 2026 and ended on May 26th, 2026, with the breach discovered on May 26th, 2026. A total of 6,027 persons were affected. The compromised information included names, addresses, driver’s license numbers, government-issued ID numbers such as passport or state ID, medical information, health insurance information, and dates of birth. Kashi Dental notified affected consumers by U.S. Mail, email, publication in print media, and a posting at its company or special website.

Separately, the ransomware group known as “The Gentlemen” claimed responsibility for an attack on Soniva Dental — Kashi Dental’s parent organization — on its dark web leak site around June 4th, 2026, as indexed by Ransomware.live and reported by DeXpose and RedPacket Security. This is an attacker-side claim only. Neither Kashi Dental nor Soniva Dental has publicly confirmed a ransomware attack, a specific threat actor, or an attack method. The timing — roughly nine days after the reported breach dates — and the organizational relationship between Kashi Dental and Soniva Dental are notable, but no official source has confirmed these events are connected.

What Should You Do?

If you received a notice from Kashi Dental, take prompt steps to protect yourself. Review any Explanation of Benefits statements from your health insurer and check your medical records for services you do not recognize, since medical information and health insurance information were among the data types involved. Place a fraud alert or credit freeze with the three major credit bureaus — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion — to help prevent unauthorized accounts from being opened in your name. Obtain your free annual credit reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and monitor them for unfamiliar activity. Because driver’s license numbers and government-issued ID numbers were exposed, be alert for signs of identity fraud and report any suspected misuse at IdentityTheft.gov. If Kashi Dental offers identity theft protection enrollment, review your notice carefully for instructions and any enrollment deadline.
