About Paylogix, LLC
Paylogix, LLC is an insurance technology company that provides SaaS-based premium billing, enrollment, consolidated billing, alternative funding, and benefits administration services for insurance carriers, brokers, and enrollment companies. Founded in 1995, the company is privately held and headquartered in Westbury, New York. Because Paylogix processes employee benefits enrollment on behalf of insurance carriers and employers, its systems contain sensitive personal and financial information belonging to employees who enrolled in voluntary workplace benefits.
What Happened?
Paylogix, LLC was listed in a California Attorney General sample breach notice filed on August 14th, 2026. According to Paylogix’s own notice, the company experienced a network disruption in November 2025. Its investigation confirmed that certain files may have been viewed or copied from the Paylogix network between November 13th, 2025 and November 18th, 2025. Paylogix notified its insurance-carrier customers on or around July 20th, 2026—approximately eight months after the incident—and began sending individual consumer notices in August 2026. The company describes the event as a cyber incident involving unauthorized access and file copying; it has not publicly confirmed ransomware involvement or named a threat actor.
On January 15th, 2026, the ransomware group Akira claimed responsibility on its dark web leak site, alleging it obtained 185 GB of data from Paylogix. That attribution is an attacker-side claim and has not been confirmed by Paylogix. Multiple cybersecurity news outlets, including ClaimDepot and BriefGlance, have reported on the Akira claim and noted the lengthy gap between the incident and consumer notification. Multiple law firms—including Strauss Borrelli PLLC, Ahdoot & Wolfson PC, and Migliaccio & Rathod LLP—have announced investigations into potential class action lawsuits; no filed complaint has been reported as of August 2026.

What Should You Do?
If you received a notice from Paylogix, consider enrolling in the 12 months of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection offered through Cyberscout (bfs.cyberscout.com/activate) within 90 days of the date on your letter. Whether or not you enroll, you should place a fraud alert or credit freeze with the three major credit bureaus—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion—to make it harder for someone to open new accounts in your name. Review your credit reports for unfamiliar accounts or inquiries at AnnualCreditReport.com, where you can access free reports from each bureau. Keep an eye on your financial account statements for unauthorized activity. Because Social Security numbers, financial account information, health insurance information, and medical information may be among the data involved for some individuals, review your Explanation of Benefits statements and medical records for any services you did not receive. If you believe your information is being misused, report it to the Federal Trade Commission at IdentityTheft.gov, which can provide a personalized recovery plan.
