About RUS Industrial, LLC
RUS Industrial, LLC, formerly known as Rig-Up Services, is a heavy industrial construction and maintenance company founded in 1994 and based in Channelview, Texas, just east of Houston. The company provides electrical, instrumentation, and fabrication products and services to customers in the oil and gas, petrochemical, and energy sectors, including chemical refineries and petrochemical plants. Because the company employs workers and maintains business relationships in these industries, it collects personal and financial information about individuals — data that, when compromised, can expose people to identity theft and financial fraud.
What Happened?
RUS Industrial, LLC was listed in a Texas Attorney General data security breach report (record ID BR-0005229), published on August 7th, 2026. According to that filing, an unauthorized party gained access to company data between June 11th, 2026 and June 13th, 2026. The breach was discovered on July 20th, 2026, and affected consumers were notified by U.S. Mail. A total of 4,812 individuals were affected. The compromised information included names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial information such as account numbers and credit or debit card numbers.
Separately, the ransomware group DragonForce listed RUS Industrial on its leak site on approximately July 30th–31st, 2026, claiming responsibility for a ransomware attack and alleging the exfiltration of approximately 11.4 GB of internal files. These claims were reported by RedPacket Security, DeXpose, GalaxyWarden, and tracked by Ransomware.live and Breachsense. The timeline is consistent with typical ransomware patterns, in which exfiltration occurs before a public listing. However, RUS Industrial has not publicly confirmed that the incident involved ransomware, and the DragonForce leak-site listing did not include evidentiary screenshots, specific data types, or ransom amounts. All DragonForce-related details remain attacker allegations and have not been independently verified by RUS Industrial or a regulator.
