Attorneys at Almeida Law Group are investigating whether a class action lawsuit can be filed on behalf of individuals affected by a possible Unident Group data breach. According to dark web monitoring sources, a hacker group calling itself qilin claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on Unident Group in a post first observed in October 2026, alleging it had gained access to internal company systems. As of this writing, Unident Group has not issued a public confirmation of the incident, and the exact scope of any exposed data remains unknown. If you believe you were affected, contact Almeida Law Group.

About Unident Group

Unident Group PC is a dental practice located at 527 Main Street, Weymouth, MA 02190. The practice offers general and family dentistry services, including ceramic crowns, implant dentistry, veneers, Invisalign, periodontal treatment, root canals, pediatric dentistry, oral cancer screening, and emergency dental care. As a healthcare provider, the practice would be subject to HIPAA breach notification requirements if protected health information were compromised, though no such notification has been identified in connection with this alleged incident.

What Happened?

On October 4th, 2026, the Qilin ransomware group listed Unident Group (unidentgroup.net) on its dark-web leak site, as tracked by Ransomware.live. This is an attacker-side allegation only. No public confirmation from Unident Group, any regulator, or any independent news outlet has been found to corroborate that a breach occurred. No data types, data size, or ransom demand details were published alongside the listing.

Qilin, also known as Agenda, is a Russia-linked ransomware-as-a-service operation active since mid-2022. According to threat intelligence reporting, it has been described as one of the most prolific ransomware groups in 2026, with over 2,100 total claimed victims since its inception and approximately 370 attacks in North America in the first half of 2026 alone. Healthcare organizations are among Qilin’s known target sectors. No arrest, indictment, or government advisory has been issued against the group as of August 2026. No independent corroborating source for this specific claim against Unident Group was found.

Key Facts at a Glance

What Should You Do?

Even though this incident has not been confirmed by Unident Group, it is a good time to take precautionary steps to protect your personal information. Consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze with the three major credit bureaus — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion — to help prevent unauthorized accounts from being opened in your name. Review your credit reports for any unfamiliar activity at AnnualCreditReport.com, and monitor your financial accounts closely. Because Unident Group is a dental practice, you should also review any Explanation of Benefits statements from your insurer and check your medical records for services you did not receive. If you detect signs of identity theft or fraud, report them at IdentityTheft.gov.
