About Walker Advertising, LLC

Walker Advertising, LLC is a legal advertising agency founded in 1984 and headquartered in Torrance, California. The company operates nationally recognized brands including Los Defensores and 1-800-THE-LAW2, specializing in Hispanic legal marketing and connecting Spanish-speaking consumers with attorneys across a network of over 200 law firms. Because the company’s work involves collecting and handling personal information on behalf of consumers seeking legal referrals, the exposure of names and Social Security numbers in this incident carries meaningful identity theft risk for those affected.

What Happened?

Walker Advertising, LLC was listed in a Maine Attorney General filing reporting an external system breach involving unauthorized access to one employee’s email account. According to the notice, an unauthorized actor gained access to that account between October 14, 2025 and December 1, 2025. Walker detected suspicious activity on approximately December 1, 2025 and engaged third-party technology specialists to investigate. The review of potentially impacted files was not completed until May 6, 2026—approximately five months after the breach was detected and nearly seven months after the initial unauthorized access began. Consumer notification was sent on June 5, 2026. A total of 618 individuals were affected. The information potentially accessed includes names and Social Security numbers. Walker is offering 12 months of credit monitoring through Epiq at no cost to affected individuals.

No independent media reporting, ransomware group claims, or threat-actor attribution have been identified for this incident. A separate class action lawsuit, Jackson v. Walker Advertising, LLC (case 4:24-cv-00934, Pennsylvania Middle District, filed June 2024), appears in court records, but it predates this breach and its subject matter has not been confirmed as breach-related. No litigation specifically tied to the October 2025 email account compromise has been identified.

What Should You Do?

If you received a notice from Walker Advertising, LLC, enroll in the free 12-month credit monitoring service offered through Epiq before the enrollment deadline listed in your notification letter. Beyond that, consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze with the three major credit bureaus—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion—to make it harder for anyone to open new accounts in your name. Review your credit reports for any unfamiliar accounts or inquiries at AnnualCreditReport.com, and monitor your existing financial accounts for suspicious activity. Because Social Security numbers were involved, the risk of identity theft is elevated and continued vigilance is warranted. If you suspect your information has been misused, visit IdentityTheft.gov to report it and get a personalized recovery plan.
