The Almeida Law Group is playing a leading role in consolidated federal litigation challenging the legality of Kalshi’s sports prediction and wagering platforms.
On February 9, 2026, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York appointed a formal leadership structure to manage and coordinate the litigation. The structure includes a Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee composed of experienced class-action attorneys from top plaintiff firms nationwide, including California Managing Partner Wesley M. Griffith of the Almeida Law Group
The Steering Committee will help direct strategy, oversee discovery, coordinate motion practice, and advance the interests of everyday Americans who have been harmed by Kalshi’s illegal sports betting platforms.
This leadership role reflects the work of the Almeida Law Group litigation team, working alongside co-counsel from Tycko & Zavareei LLP, Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein LLP, Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP, Cutter Law P.C., and Weitz Luxenberg, in pursuing claims against Kalshi and its affiliated entities for operating unlawful gambling enterprises.
The consolidated action is styled In re Kalshi Sports Prediction Market Litigation, Lead Case No. 25-cv-08585 (JLR), in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
