On July 7, 2026, in Singh v. Cone Health, Case No. 1:24-cv-00558-LAF-JGM, Judge Freeman of the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina granted preliminary approval of a health data privacy class action settlement that resolved claims that Cone Health disclosed patients’ personal information through website tracking technologies.

In granting preliminary approval, Judge Freeman certified the following class for settlement purposes: All living individuals who from September 1, 2016, to November 3, 2022, accessed the MyChart patient portal on Cone Health’s website or completed a submission form on their website.

Almeida Law Group LLC and Peiffer Wolf Carr Kane Conway & Wise LLP were appointed as Class Counsel, and the final approval hearing is scheduled for November 5, 2026.
